Who is Attorney Bench?
Andrew grew up in the Lehigh Valley. He went to Parkland High School and then to Franklin and Marshall College where he received an honors degree in physics. He holds a masters degree in Medicine from Georgetown University and a Juris Doctorate from Elon University, where he graduated at the top of his class. In addition to his American law degree, Andrew holds a LL.M. in European Union law from Trinity College, Dublin where he graduated valedictorian. Most recently, Andrew did doctoral work in the philosophy of law at the University of Cambridge in England under the direction of professor John Bell who was himself a doctoral student of Richard Dworkin.
After law school, Andrew clerked for President Judge Alan M. Black of the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas and then clerked for Senior Judge William Platt of the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Following his appellate clerkship, Andrew worked for the largest law firm in the Lehigh Valley before opening his own legal practice.
In addition to his legal work, Attorney Bench is also the chief operating officer of Heidegger Farms Cooperative, which is a tax-exempt cooperative farm that provides free apprenticeships and rehabilitation for former drug users. Andrew is also the solicitor of the Bethlehem Food Co-op and is committed to advancing agriculture in the Lehigh Valley.
Attorney Bench is admitted to the bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the bar of the County of Lehigh, the bar of the County of Northampton, the Federal Third Circuit, the Federal Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the Federal Middle District of Pennsylvania.
